Retired Army General and Fox News Analyst Keane Has Kentucky Roots
I don't know how the topic came up, but when I was on the phone with my Mom Wednesday, Dad piped up in the background and said Retired General Jack Keane "taught" at Western Kentucky University. So who is he?
Keane is a retired four-star general and if he looks familiar, he's a regular military analyst on the Fox News channel. As it turns out, General Keane went to grad school at WKU where he received his master's degree in philosophy. He served in Vietnam where he served as both a platoon leader and company commander. And he commanded at every level as a lifelong paratrooper. Keane also holds an honorary Ph.D. in public service from Eastern Kentucky University.
Last week, General Keane turned down a position in President-Elect Donald Trump's cabinet as Defense Secretary due to personal issues; his wife passed away in June.
