April 2, 2012 The Academy of Country Music Awards were last night and I loved it! I really love the music, but I just LOVE seeing what all of my favorite artist are wearing!

Even though he is the co-host of the 2012 ACM Awards, Blake Shelton didn’t stuff the ballot to win the Male Vocalist of the Year award. He won it because he is awesome. We’d venture to guess that some of his newly-cultivated fans from his stint on the ‘The Voice‘ voted, too.
Miranda Lambert followed up her win for Album of the Year with the 2012 ACM Award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Congrats, Miranda. It’s shaping up to be your night.
Tonight has been a great night for country crooner Jason Aldean and his pop counterpart Kelly Clarkson! Following their win for Vocal Event of the Year, Aldean and Clarkson took home yet another trophy at the 2012 ACM Awards for ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay’ when they snagged the award for Single Record of the Year.
“Look mom, Kiss!” Charles Kelley said after thanking fans and country radio for helping them win another Vocal Group of the Year Award at the 47th annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas. The rockers presented the award, wearing full makeup and costumes. It’s about as loud and scary as anyone will ever be when shouting “Lady Antebellum!”
Miranda Lambert had some stiff competition at the 2012 ACM Awards, but that didn’t stop the fiery country songstress from taking the Album of the Year award at this year’s show in Las Vegas. Lambert won the distinction for her chart-topping 2011 album, ‘Four the Record,’ which boasts singles such as ‘Baggage Claim’ and ‘Over You.’
Mike Eli couldn’t have looked more shocked when cameras focused on him and his bandmates reacting after their name was read as Song of the Year winners at the 2012 ACM Awards. The Eli Young Band singer remained seated for a moment before realizing his time to thank the appropriate people behind ‘Crazy Girl’ was wasting away.
One of the off-camera awards was presented to Jason Aldean as he walked the red carpet before the show on Sunday night. The singer was surprised with a trophy for Vocal Event of the Year, which honored ‘Don’t You Wanna Stay,’ his duet with Kelly Clarkson.
Thompson Square put a big end to Sugarland‘s rein as the Academy of Country Music’s Vocal Duo of the Year Saturday night (March 31), when they were presented with the trophy for this year’s award show one night early.
April 1, 2012 The 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards are tonight in Las Vegas. Despite the strange omission of some superstars (Keith Urban, anyone??), the list of nominees is a virtual Who's Who in the business. So, Dave Spencer and I decided that we would study the list of nominees and try to pick the winners. Now, we admit . . . it would probably have been easier to pick the winning numbers in the Mega Millions jackpot, but, like Pat Benatar, we're going to hit it with our best shots. And, the nominees are . . .
