In 2013, two former Battle for The Big O finalists made it deep into American Idol.  Owensboro's Jenny Beth Willis was one of the show's Top 20 girls.  And Paul Jolley, who was a finalist in our competition two years ago, made it all the way to the Idol Top 10 and spent the summer on tour with his fellow finalists.  This season, yet another contestant with ties to our annual talent competition is

For the second year in a row, Dakota Cummins & ModGrass were in the hunt for the Battle for The Big O title!  And, like they did last year, the Dongola, Illinois-based group brought bluegrass to Diamond Lake's Good Time Theatre and won over the crowd and judges.  WATCH!!

The Kyle Whitaker Band needed a wild card to get into the finals of The Battle for The Big O, but Saturday night they showed up ready to win the whole thing.  And they nearly did.  Check out their awesome performance of Randy Houser's "How Country Feels!"

The 2013 Battle for The Big O is in the books and Saturday night's finale featured twelve incredibly talented acts battling for $1,000 and the right to open the 2013 Bath Fitter Big O Music Festival.  Watch as we reveal our 3rd place winners, our runners-up and the grand champion.  This is exciting!!

With this year's amazing crop of talent in WBKR's Battle for The Big O talent competition there was just one wild card spot open for the finals.  And that spot was taken, quickly and easily, by The Kyle Whitaker Band from Butler County, Kentucky.  Check out the performance that earned them a shot at $1,000 and the right to open the 2013 Big O Music Fest.  This is an original song called "Amer

He drove from Benton, Kentucky to Mount Vernon, Indiana with a guitar on his back and dreams of making the finals of WBKR's Battle for The Big O talent contest.  And you know what?  He made it.  Check out Clint Fisher, one of the 13 finalists who will be competing for $1,000 and the right to open the 2013 Big O Music Fest.

Last year, they finished 2nd.  This year, Dakota Cummins and Mod Grass want to finish one spot higher.  And, the good news, the bluegrass trio from Dongola, lllinois has again qualified for The Battle for The Big O finale.  And they did it with this performance last Friday at Hawg N Sauce in Mount Vernon!

Meade County, Kentucky is proud of Blue Sky Alibi!  The trio drove over two hours to compete at WBKR's Battle for The Big O auditions at Hawg N Sauce in Mount Vernon, Indiana last Friday.  And this performance of Blake Shelton's "Boys Round Here" earned them a spot in the finals.  Check it out!

Friday night's auditions at Hawg N Sauce in Mount Vernon, Indiana were amazing!  We passed an astounding FIVE acts through to the Battle for The Big O finale coming up Saturday, August 24th.  One of them . . . Blackford Creek, who took the stage and sang "Copperhead Road."  This is flippin' awesome.  WATCH!

Last Saturday, Kara Grey Wilson took the stage at Towne Square Mall, grabbed the mic and blasted her way into the finals of The Battle for The Big O.  Watch her take on the classic "House of the Rising Sun."  This is GREAT!
