October 5, 2012 It's National Bullying Prevention Month, and, I'm guessing, most would think that the bullying epidemic just involves children. Well, that isn't the case. Adults, sadly, get in on the act.
October 2, 2012 This is AWESOME!! As you may or may not know, October is National Anti-Bullying Month and it just got started with a bang thanks to a courageous television news anchor. Jennifer Livingston, who works on-air in Wisconsin, recently received a letter from a viewer who took issue with her size and weight. Well, Jennifer took issue with that letter and its implications. So, she stood proudly in front of the camera and, for 4 and half minutes, addressed her "bully." WATCH!
I just saw the trailer from the documentary movie "Bully" unfortunately that's how it is in schools across the country and has happened to many many households, even in mine. Because of bullying I've watched my son feel bad about himself , keep to himself and overall just feel sad a lot. And if you're a concerned parent like I am please talk with your children if you see a drop in grades or your child doesn't act happy like they once did, something needs to be done!
Bullying is a very serious situation, the stats show that 13 million kids will be bullied in the U.S. this year, even deaths has been caused over bullying that number need to go down to ZERO! This new movie coming out has received an "R" rating so that means a lot of young kids who need to see it won't because of the "R" rating. I don't think it's right, do you?!?
November 3, 2011 It's been a sad week in the tri-state. Within the last few days two teens--one in Muhlenberg County, the other in McLean County--have taken their own lives as a result of what's thought to be the emotional abuse suffered at the hands of bullies. It's a nationwide epidemic that has landed in our own backyards.
