Emma Rowley Sings Live on WBKR [Video]

A couple of weeks ago, young singer/songwriter Emma Rowley stopped by to visit the WBKR studios.  She was fresh off spending a week in Nashville for winning a national talent contest sponsored by Digital Rodeo and Eventful.com.  While she was there, she got to attend the CMA Awards, the CMA Country Christmas show and she got to spend some time in the recording studio with Bryan White!  In fact, Bryan was so impressed with Emma he gave her one of his songs to sing.  And, when she visited with us at WBKR, she decided to perform it for us live.  WATCH!

Emma Rowley to Visit WBKR Studios Monday [Video]

She has had one heckuva week.  Emma Rowley recently won a national talent contest co-sponsored by Digital Rodeo and Eventful.com.  And her grand prize?  She got to spend the week in Nashville going to the 46th Annual CMA Awards, Saturday night's taping of A CMA Country Christmas, recording in Nashville studios, and rubbing elbows with the some of the country music industry's movers and shakers.  And, now, Emma is closing out her incredible journey with a trip to visit us!

Singer/Songwriter Emma Rowley Needs YOUR Help ASAP! [Video]

A couple of months ago, I was fiddling around on YouTube and came across a young singer/songwriter named Emma Rowley.  In fact, I featured her version of "Call Me Maybe" as one of my "Country-Fried YouTube Covers of the Week."  I thought she was awesome and lots of you did too!  Well, now, Emma needs our help!  She is one of five finalists in a contest sponsored by Digital Rodeo and Eventful.com.  If she wins, she gets to spend a week in Nashville, cut three songs in a Nashville recording studio and attend the CMA Music Awards as a V.I.P. guest.  Here's her video that got her in the running.  Check it out!

Call Me Maybe: Chad’s Country-Fried Cover of the Week [Video]

About six weeks ago, I started working out every weekday.  And, to help me get motivated, I grabbed my IPod and loaded it up with what I consider to be "workout" songs.  Upbeat.  fun.  Pep in their step.  The first track on my playlist is the song "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.  (It's the perfect song to run 6 mph to on the treadmill!)  You've probably heard it.  It recently reached #1 in seven countries and peaked at #4 on the Billboard chart here in the U.S.  When I first heard it, I told Jaclyn that she needed to give it a listen.  Something about "Call Me Maybe" just screamed out for a "country-fried" version and I thought Jaclyn's band could give it a cool, country-flavored twist.   Apparently, I'm not the only one who thought the tune had some bacon grease in it.  Check this out!  I found an awesome version by a young lady named Emma Rowley, who sat down with her acoustic guitar and cranked it out.  Her version of "Call Me Maybe" is my "Country-Fried" YouTube Cover of the Week . . .
