This morning, on The WBKR Waking Crew, she told us to take a listen to Kenny Chesney's "Pirate Flag" back-to-back with Tom Petty's 1993 hit "Mary Jane's Last Dance." Eric Church‘s hit song, ‘Springsteen’ borrows the name of the New Jersey rock and roll star, but the tune isn’t exactly about Bruce Springsteen, per se. If you’ve listened — and we know you have — you know that ‘Springsteen’ is more about nostalgia and good memories than it is about the Boss himself. But that doesn’t mean that the iconic rocker doesn’t have an opinion about the song which bears his name. In fact, he likes it so much that he sent Church a handwritten note.
As expected, the Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw trek, the Brothers of the Sun Tour, has surpassed the one million mark in ticket sales. The tour launched in June and has quickly become one of the summer’s hottest shows, regardless of genre. Pollstar recently named the tour as the highest-grossing trek of the summer, topping other big name artists including Roger Waters, Coldplay and the Dave Matthews Band.
