After a 2-0 start and its first SEC road win in 6 years, Kentucky Wildcat football could and SHOULD be uppermost in the minds of Big Blue fans everywhere. And I think they have a good shot against Florida in Commonwealth Saturday.
Football has yet to begin, I know. And Kentucky has a real shot at a winning season and a bowl game. And I am excited about that. But there's NO WAY I'm not blogging about the release of the full 2015-2016 UK basketball schedule.
It's no secret that I'm a big college basketball fan...much more so than the NBA. Although the NBA does get points in my book for giving me basketball in June. So, yeah I'm a basketball guy. But I'm also a big fan of college football.
First, let me say that I am not putting the cart before the horse and discounting UK's upcoming 2015 football season. I think those Wildcats are a post-season team and I can't wait until the games start.
Earlier this year, I was listening to a talk show on which UK head coach John Calipari was the guest. What he said about the goal he spelled out for the 'Cats at the beginning of last season seemed to be something that Big Blue Nation could take the wrong way. Maybe.
With Kentucky returning Tyler Ulis, Alex Poythress, and Marcus Lee plus adding über-talented incoming freshmen Skal Labissiere, Isaiah Briscoe, and Charles Matthews, the Wildcats were tabbed as a super-early pre-season #1.
