Owensboro Christian Church has unveiled a new feature for this year's Light Up the Night event.  It's called Scarecrow Row and the church is looking for local businesses to create scarecrows for the big display.  And there are a couple of incentives for doing so.

I love a good deal as much as the next person.  One of my very favorite bargain stores is located right here in Owensboro-Daviess County.

The Owensboro Chamber of Commerce is presenting the Chick-Fil-A Leadercast 2012 at Owensboro Christian Church on May 4th 7:30am-3:30pm. The live simulcast of this one-of-a-kind event will be broadcast live from Atlanta. You can join more than 125,000 leaders from around the world and begin to make choices that matter.

Sunrise Drive is where I grew up. You can see it on the far left of this photo. And my old house is still there. All the houses, in fact, still stand on the east side of Sunrise. But across the street? That's a different story. Sunrise West (for lack of a better term) is now a basin, and it's helped do the city of Owensboro a world of good in recent weeks.
