In case you haven't figured this out . . . Jaclyn is, for all practical purposes, a dumb blonde.  Of course, she's naturally a brunette, so I suppose it's fair to say she's a dumb brunette who aspires to be a dumb blonde.  Tuesday morning, she went to the restroom at The Grand Ole Opry and was "attacked" by an automatic toilet.  In her words . . . "it had a very aggressive premature automatic flush and it flushed three times before I had my pants off!"  Apparently, the gravitational pull of the toilet bowl was so strong, it yanked Jaclyn's sunglasses off her head and into the bowl.  (Sidebar:  As I am typing this, Jaclyn just walked up and said to me, "You wanna know why I don't wear rompers?"  To which I replied, "Jaclyn, I don't know what rompers are.)  And . . . now we're back to the story.  Picture it.  Nashville.  June 7th, 2011.  Jaclyn's sunglasses are floating in a public toilet.  Check that!  According to the midday genius,  the sunglasses were being sucked and swirled into the depths of the bowl hole.

For those of you who know me, you know that I love animals and basically claim to be Ace Ventura. All of my pets are rescues and I am currently proud papa to 2 dogs and 1 cat.  Dolly is a Bichon Frise who is ALWAYS up in a brother's grill.  My cat, Oprah, is deaf (which probably comes in rather handy.  My dogs are obnoxious and, let's be honest, I wrote the book on boisterous).  And Wilma is my rescued standard schnauzer with separation anxiety and a wide variety of other mental health disorders.  I don't really know much about where Wilma came from.  She's a strikingly beautiful pooch . . . but a total basket case.  I like to refer to her as Kibbles and Fits!  To give you guys a sneak peak into the life of one of my neurotic four-pawed children, I decided to share with you WILMA'S FIVE FAVORITE PLACES TO GO!

Earlier this week, the Red Cross visited the WBKR studios to conduct CPR training.  Dave Spencer and I hadn't been certified since way back in high school when we were required to get jiggy with Resusci Anne!   After completing our training (with these little guys who look like they escaped the BLUE MAN GROUP), we decided to share our new skills with YOU to demonstrate the importance of CPR and how it can truly SAVE LIVES!!  And, at the end of the video, we let you know how YOU can take part in RED CROSS training too!

It's almost Bar-B-Q Festival time in downtown Owensboro!!  It's one of the few times of the year someone can ask, "What's that smell?" and you don't mind to tell them!  LOL!  The International Bar-B-Q Festival has been around since way back in 1979.  Not only is it tradition in Owensboro, but it essentially put Owensboro on the map.  See, Memphis can claim Bar-B-Q.  Uh . . . whatever!  St. Louis can claim good eatin' too!  Uh . . . always a bridesmaid St. Louie!  Better stick with that arch!   But Owensboro IS the Bar-B-Q capital of the world!   And the International Bar-B-Q Festival, the 2nd weekend of each May, is just a reminder how good OUR Bar-B-Q is!
