Why celebrate Elvis's death, not his birthday? Well, it's warmer in August than in January. But, I think primarily because on that day 35 years ago, millions of Elvis fans became one as they grieved together over their loss. If you didn't live it, you can't know the feeling. But, Elvis fans know.
