UK Wildcats Help With Owensboro Couple’s Surprise Gender Reveal
Well, a new member of the Big Blue Nation is on the way! My friend Jackie Smith announced her pregnancy this morning on social media with the most adorable video. Documenting her and her husband Zach's trip to see the University of Kentucky play Vanderbilt Tuesday night.
The Wildcats defeated the Commodores 190-77, but the most exciting part of the game actually happened in the stands as Jackie got to surprise her husband with some special news about her bun in the oven.
If you know Jackie, you know about her family's journey with infertility. She has always made an effort to be transparent with the struggles and the joy, inspiring others who may be experiencing the same things. She is a huge advocate for couples seeking to adopt or go through fertility treatments with her annual fundraiser through her jewelry business, Jackie Blue Handmade. “I am so grateful for a community that has rallied around our journey and helped us grow our family over the years through supporting my business, praying for us, cheering us on, etc. In return, we have been able to link arms with that same community to help other couples on their path to parenthood," Jackie shared.
As a leader of the support group, Light in the Dark, she and other local ladies meet monthly to fellowship and share encouragement in navigating infertility together. Her family is the perfect example of the light in the dark as Jackie and Zach now have two beautiful daughters, Channing and Sylvia. A third bundle of joy is on the way and they're gonna mix things up a bit in the best way.
Speaking of mixing things up, with the first two girls, Zach surprised Jackie by revealing their genders. This time, Jackie kept it a secret from Zach and chose such an exciting way to spill the beans to her huge Wildcat fan hubby. She made this adorable video to document the day spent traveling to the basketball game, and thanks to their friend, Justin Schwartz from Schwartz Heating & Cooling (gotta give a shout out cause he's so awesome), the reveal was captured on camera as well. What a creative and sweet idea!

And how about that love from Coach Cal!? So cool! I also loved that local bakery Dalisha's got to join in the fun as they shared the news with the big sisters.
