The only woman I can think of who loves a fabulous caftan more than Yours Truly is the iconic Ms. Roper from "Three's Company." In fact, she may be where my love for this glamorous and tacky (but in a good way) garment began. I used to LOVE watching Nick at Nite.

Unfortunately, the actress, Audra Marie Lindley, who played Helen Roper on the TV show passed away in 1997, but her memory lives on in the resurgence of her famous fashion. Bold, yet comfortable, what was once just a satin housedress in fun patterns, is now a statement piece being created once again by designers all over the world as evidenced by my TikTok feed.

@fringe.and.company I’ll be living in these gorgeous floral caftans all summer. Which is your favorite floral? #fringeandcompany #sequincaftan #caftan #summerstyle ♬ original sound - Fringe and Company

This woman makes sparkly versions in different styles and colors. So pretty and what a way to say 'I am here for the party!"

Speaking of party, I recently learned that along with the rebirth of the caftan comes an event that is creeping across the United States, or I guess I should say crawling. You know the general idea of a pub crawl right? In larger cities, bars and restaurants are hosting Ms. Roper Romps where folks, men and women alike, don their best caftans and hit the town hopping around their favorite hot spots for drinks and food.

There is actually one happening in Louisville, KY this weekend. So much fun!

So come on Owensboro! If any of you want to help plan something like this, holler at your girl! I would love to help. It sounds like an absolute blast, and I am always down for an excuse to step out and show off my ever-growing caftan collection.
