I've been thinking about getting a really good camera. I've been relying on my Android for picture-taking. But I'm ready to take it up a notch.

And when I do, I hope to discover the kinds of places you'll find in a blog at www.buzzfeed.com. It's called "The 33 Most Beautiful Abandoned Places in the World."

I've heard of some of these places--one in particular, Angkor Watt in Cambodia, is a well-known tourist attraction--but others, not at all. I think my favorite is the abandoned bobsled track in Sarajevo from the 1984 Winter Olympics.

First of all, I remember those Olympics well and always watched the bobsled competition because it's my favorite. I guess knowing that at one time the area around that track was teeming with people and now plays host to weeds, trees, and brush and is basically hidden from the world makes it kind of an eerie sight to see.
