What to Bring and What to Know for Taste of Country – Our Survival Guide

Concert

The days are counting down until the Taste of Country concert on Saturday and we’re getting excited. We can’t see Josh Turner, Josh Thompson, Casey James, Glen Templeton and local band Straight Laced take the stage at Ellis Park. In case you haven’t done so already, there’s still time to purchase tickets online from Eventbrite. Since this is the first year, we figured it would be nice to share a few things to know for the event. With that, read on to find our survival guide for Taste of Country!

Photos are allowed (and encouraged!)

Cameras will be allowed to be brought in to Ellis Park and you can snap as many photos as you want throughout the day! Also, be sure to send us your photos on Facebook or tweet them on Twitter with the hashtag #tocjoshturner . We’ll collect as many great photos and include them in a photo gallery on Facebook as well as the photos we collect during the day we’ll display on wkdq.com after the event!

Outside chairs are allowed

Lawn Chair

You’re allowed to bring in your own chairs for this shindig Keep in mind, if you purchased a general admission ticket you will have access to the grandstand, the blacktop area in front of grandstand and the dirt track behind the Best Seats in the House section. There is seating available in the grandstand however it is first come, first served. If you bought a Best Seat in the House ticket, you’ll be provided a chair that you can keep as a souvenir.

Dress Appropriately

Dirty Shoes

For those of you who purchased Best Seats in the House tickets this section is located on the dirt track directly in front of the stage. If I were you, I wouldn’t wear a nice pair of shoes that you don’t want to get dirty! This is dirt we are talking about which has a tendency to make things dirty! This same rule of thumb applies to those people who’ll be standing/sitting behind the “Best Seats in the House” section on the dirt track!

Concessions will be Available

Rain or Shine, the show will go on

We’ve been receiving a few calls here to the station whether the event will be postponed due to the weather. This is a rain or shine event so please prepare accordingly.

So, that’s at least a start of a survival guide for the big event! Please let us know if you have any questions before making the trek to Ellis Park in the comments below!
