Two of Major League Baseballs biggest rivals are set to face off this weekend, but does this rivalry still feel the same as it used to? B.J. Ragone of Townsquare Media posed that question and I have an answer. Sorta!

If the Yankees weren't a broken-down shadow of their once-greatness, the rivalry would still be strong. Boston may be the best team in the MLB and the Wankees ... er, Yankees are the best team at New York's Medical Center.

cf: Curtis Granderson 3b: Alex Rodriguez, SS: Derek Jeter 1b: Mark Teixeira c: Francisco Cervelli SS backup: Eduardo Nunez 1b backup: Kevin Youkilis and more, too many to count, are injured.  Jeter was back for one game after missing all season and he's back on the DL. It's an all-star infirmary! How could they compete with the current Red Sox bunch?

A few decades earlier, Thurman Munson and Carlton Fisk were bitter enemies, and Alex Rodriguez-Jason Varitek's brawl are things of the past. If some Red Sox player punched a current Yankee, he could be arrested under some anti-Senior Citizens hate crime law!

What do you think?
