The 10 Best Photos from the 2024 Owensboro Air Show

The Owensboro Air Show thrilled spectators over the weekend downtown along the banks of the mighty Ohio River. This year's show, which was headlined by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, benefited from incredibly beautiful weather and a massive crowd. Thousands and thousands made their way to the Owensboro Riverfront Saturday and Sunday to watch some of the best aerobatic teams in the world perform.

Crowds lined the riverfront- from RiverPark Center, Smothers Park, the VFW, the Owensboro Convention Center, and English Park- to catch the show. It didn't take long for photos of the Blue Angels, the F-35 Lightning Demo Team, the Northern Stars and more to hit social media.

There were some incredible photos taken over the weekend. Some were from professional air show photographers, who travel to air shows around the country in pursuit of the perfect shot. Others were taken by professional photographers here in town. Even more were captured by amateur/aspiring photographers, who managed to get some incredible shots simply with a cell phone and good timing.

According to Tim Ross, who's the Director of Public Events for the City of Owensboro, final crowd estimates are expected later today or Tuesday. However, city officials are confident "it was definitely the biggest crowd we've ever had!"

The last time the Blue Angels headlined the Owensboro Air Show was back in 2021. There's no doubt the city was ready to welcome them back!
