30 Spectacular Photos from Wild Lights at the Louisville Zoo
I have to admit. I haven't been to the Louisville Zoo since I was in college at the University of Louisville in the early 90s. It was during that period of time that I met my friend Scott Mitchell. He and I worked together at The Old Spaghetti Factory downtown. Over the years, we have managed to stay in touch thanks to social media and I was pumped when he shared photos from his family's recent visit to the Louisville Zoo exhibit known as Wild Lights. Until Scott posted about it, I had not heard of it or seen any photos from it. But WOW! Just WOW!
The event, which is billed as "one of the largest lantern festivals in the nation" is back by popular demand and is underway now through Sunday, June 5th. Wild Lights features thousands of handcrafted silk-covered lanterns and over 50,000 LED light bulbs. It looks gorgeous!
Scott took some incredible photos during his visit and gave me permission to share them with you. These are so sensational that I want to head up to Louisville and visit the zoo for the first time in 30 years.
