Annual Strawberry Festival Returns to The Cottage in Daviess County
Community favorite Strawberry Festival returns to The Cottage in Western Daviess County this summer June 8th & 9th. It will be bigger and better than ever.
The Cottage Farmstand
Located at 6819 Highway 56, Owensboro, KY 42301, The Cottage Farmstand and restaurant is a little piece of heaven in the Sorgho area. You can enjoy their baked goods, dips, pickles, coffee, and so much more daily and you can find them at the Owensboro Regional Farmer's Market on Saturdays. That's where I get my mini muffin fix! If you know, you know! If you don't, what are you waiting for?
The Cottage Festival Favorites
For the past several years, The Cottage has hosted several creative festivals in the area which have grown in popularity and become staples people look forward to. The Pumpkin & Pickle Festival in the fall and the Strawberry Festival in the summer are two favorites.
The Annual Strawberry Festival Returns
June 8th and 9th from 9AM to 5PM each day there will be over 150 vendors selling their wares, Petting zoo, Pony rides, face painting, inflatables, firefighter's obstacle course, live music and for the first time this year, a Car Show and Truck Town!
Strawberry Festival Vendors
150 is a LOT of vendors. They'll have handmade crafts, clothes, baked goods, jewelry, hats, art, home decor and so much more! Here are some of the small businesses that will be set up for you to shop til you drop.
What is Truck Town?
For the first time ever, Truck Town, sponsored by Ohio Valley Insurance, will have a whole collection of large farm equipment, cool trucks, and construction equipment to explore and see up close. There will be demonstrations as well for all big machine enthusiasts. I know there are lots of kiddos big and small who will be pumped about this.
Field of Flavors
According to the fabulous Ms. Marlene Knight of the Cottage, you better come hungry! "Many, many food offerings from our own Owensburger® to pork chop sandwiches and other meats locally produced to unique and delicious strawberry themed offerings. Strawberry Slushies in a souvenir cup are always a favorite. New this year, a pie shop with a variety of pies, whole or by the slice. Strawberry Shortcake, Strawberry Beer (Brew Bridge), Strawberry cake pops, cookies & muffins, Chocolate covered strawberry lattes, etc."

Strawberry Festival Parking
The only fee to attend is $5 (cash only) for parking. If you would like to help promote this event, you can pick up a Festival sign (while supplies last) at The Cottage to put in your yard. Just bring that sign back to The Cottage the day of the festival, and you can park for free.
