We have some exciting news to share this afternoon about Tyler Matthews, the strength and athletic development coach at Apollo High School.  He was just named Kentucky Strength Coach of the Year!

Tyler's honor was awarded to him by the National High School Strength and Conditioning Association.  According to Daviess County Public Schools, Matthews is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.  Having received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville and his masters degree from Cumberland University, Tyler started his coaching career at Trinity High School in Louisville.  After a brief stint at KWC following that, he came to Apollo High School and has been coaching students there for the last five years.

Tyler is the son of our good friends, Terry and Andrea Matthews, who own Terry's Tees here in Owensboro.  We know they're proud of their son and we join them in that sentiment.  We ask that you join us in wishing Tyler well!  With his Kentucky Strength Coach of the Year honors, he now advances for consideration for Coach of the Year honors in the Great Lakes Regional- which includes Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
