Beloved Tamarack Carnival Celebrates 60 Years!
This weekend, Tamarack Elementary located at 1733 Tamarack Rd. in Owensboro, KY, will be celebrating an amazing milestone. 60 years of hosting the annual Tamarack Carnival May 4th - May 6th! I think it's amazing that this beloved community event has been lighting up the town for that long. A popular fundraiser for the school, it's also a fun way for the kids to let loose and have a blast together before the end of the school year. In fact, they get out of class early tomorrow to hop on the rides! I sure wish my elementary school had done that!
After the kiddos take their turns, the carnival opens to the public Thursday night from 4:00-8:00PM and the rides are only a dollar! One night only!
Accompanying the rides Friday night is their infamous chili supper starting at 4:00PM. They'll also have their famous cake walk and a silent auction with some great themed prize baskets like family game night or movie night. There is even a basket of scratch-off tickets! Maybe you'll get lucky like local woman Brittany Matthews did last week. Also up for grabs are gift certificates to Owensboro's favorite local kid-friendly businesses like Lic's Deli & Ice Cream and Elite Air.
Shout out to Midway by Casey's Rides for bringing back the $20 bargain bracelets for Friday and Saturday! If you plan to ride as many rides as you can, this is definitely the way to go. There are three unlimited sessions, 4-10PM Friday, 12-5PM and 5-10PM Saturday. Each session, you pay only $20 per bracelet, slap that bad boy on and go to town! Great deal!
We drove by this week as the rides were being set up, and my 8 year-old, Rollins, was ready to unbuckle his seatbelt and jump out! I know a lot of y'all are just as excited as he is for that Ferris wheel to start turning. It's gonna be a blast!
