6-year-old Koda Tharp loves the great outdoors! With a passion for wildlife and love for nature, Koda spends his days exploring, learning about plants and ecosystems, and camping under the stars. His adventurous spirit could now earn him the title of National Jr. Ranger, but he needs our votes!

Growing up in the country like I did, Koda has learned to appreciate nature in a big way. There’s nothing better than exploring the outdoors, riding four-wheelers, and just stepping outside to breathe in the fresh air. I feel truly blessed to experience such a simpler, more grounded way of life, and I know Koda does too. How about you? Do you find peace in the great outdoors?

Calling Bulldog Nation! One of Calhoun Elementary’s own, young nature enthusiast Koda, is in the running to become the 2025 Jr. Ranger. It's a nationwide competition that celebrates kids who love the outdoors. I know Koda and his family well. He's a great kid deserving of this title!

Jr. Ranger 2025 Voting Officially Underway!

Koda is competing for $20,000, a feature in Ranger Rick magazine, and the prestigious Jr. Ranger title. Community support is needed with daily free votes and donation-based votes, benefiting the National Wildlife Federation’s mission to protect wildlife and wild places for future generations.

Koda’s favorite animal is a goat. Our pet goats are silly and entertaining, and they love eating snacks right from Koda’s hand.

Koda’s favorite outdoor hobby is riding his four-wheeler. He has recently learned to ride safely all by himself and is super proud of his accomplishment!
