The 4th of July is just a week and some change away.  But fireworks celebrations will begin this weekend in much of the tristate.  One of the most popular events in our area is set for tomorrow night.  The City of Whitesville is gearing up for its 13th Annual Fireworks in the Park celebration.
Last year, the event was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  2020 would have been the 13th annual event.  However, that milestone was delayed a year. But it's back!!  And the fireworks are gonna light up the sky at dusk on Friday, June 25th.
This morning, here at WBKR, Whitesville Mayor Patsy Mayfield joined me on the show to chat about the event and give us a sneak preview of the big celebration, that includes an explosive fireworks (of course), live music and delicious food.
The 13th Annual Fireworks in the Park event will take place at Whitesville City Park on Hwy 54.  As we mentioned in the interview, the fireworks show is FREE and there is no charge to park.

As I mentioned in my interview with Patsy, many of my Whitesville friends stand firm in their claim that Whitesville's fireworks show is the absolute best show in the tristate.  In fact, here's some evidence of that assertion.  Here's a look at the display from 2018 as captured by Mean Motion Media and shared via YouTube.

Have fun in Whitesville tomorrow night.  The food and music get underway at 5pm. #LetFreedomRing
