The Ohio River gets a bad rap sometimes. Sure, it's brown and looks kinda nasty, and you certainly wouldn't want to drink from it - but the river does have lots to offer us too...

  • Easy access to take your boat out on a sunny day
  • Plenty of fishing opportunities
  • The chance to go see the historic LST 325
  • An awesome backdrop for a stroll down Riverside Drive
  • And some (usually) beautiful scenery
e is for everyone

The Ohio River also reminds us of the history of Evansville - a small glimpse of what it might have been like to live in a river town back in the day. This Fall, you will have several opportunities to see what it was like to travel up and down the Ohio River (or any river, really) when an authentic riverboat returns to Evansville.

Visit Evansville and American Cruise Lines just announced that American Heritage will make four return trips to Evansville this Fall.  American Heritage, formerly the Queen of Mississippi, was built in 2015 and received a total redesign before the 2022 cruise season. American Heritage will be docked at Inland Marina, the former home of the LST 325.

  • Sunday, August 28 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Sunday, September 11 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Saturday, September 17 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Saturday, October 1 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

During these stops, the public is invited to come out and see the beautiful American Heritage riverboat. Unfortunately, tours of the boat will not be available to the public. You can, however, take in the beautiful scenery there at Marina Pointe while you enjoy a drink (starting at 9 am) and some lunch (starting at 11 am).

Visit Evansville President & CEO, Alexis Berggren, says, “We are excited to welcome the American Heritage and American Cruise Lines back to Evansville. As we look to reactivate these activities on our riverfront, this is a first, important step. In addition to these tremendous cruise opportunities, we continue to work towards attracting a riverboat to Evansville full time that can accommodate our local community and visitors alike."
