Competition at TN County Fair Has Mothers Ready to Change Their Names

County and state fairs across the United States come up with some pretty great competitions to showcase their local agriculture, crafts, animals, and even talents. Some of them are pretty unique. Like the vegetable critters at the Kentucky State Fair

Or the butter sculptures in Ohio.

But this contest...sent chills up my spine. Ready to hide in my bedroom. It has mothers everywhere contemplating changing their names from "mama" to a word their kids can't pronounce. A Mom-calling contest.

Not unlike the more popular "pig-calling" contests where farmers holler their best "Sooooeyyyy!" to get the pigs a-running. However, this one is just for the kiddos to test the best ways to get their moms' attention. They are all professionals from the looks of it.

The Wilson County Fair started this triggering competition last year and it was a huge hit. Although all of the moms in attendance were cringing the entire time, it was still absolutely hilarious because, well, it was relatable. They say all humor is based in truth and each one of the kids participating had some pretty great angles for calling their mamas. Or making them dream of running far far away. For example:

OK WOW! Attacked! I only have one kiddo, but I imagine you moms out there of multiples or whole squads were especially triggered by the tattling tactic.  How about the first girl calling her mom out for too many visits to TJ Maxx?! Come on now sis, don't snitch on the woman who gave you life.  If she wants -I mean, NEEDS- another candle or comfy throw blanket, she deserves it.  But wait...there's more...here are the kids from the inaugural contest:
