For as long as I can remember, the end of the street I grew up on in Hartford has had this empty lot. There was talk of a church being built there, and a couple of years ago, a convenience store was proposed and then the idea was quickly shot down. Thus, a ton of grass and a big tree have stood the test of over forty years. One other thing grows there, daffodils!

I also started to notice the green tufts growing through the dead grass as I started back towards Owensboro on the Natcher Parkway earlier this evening. Of course, daffodils can be planted and grown around the house or the garden. But there's just something about daffodils in the wild that get me excited for March and the arrival of Spring.
