Spooky Season has begun, and I'm ready to enjoy this vibe right up until the big day. I'm here for any fall activity or good horror movie you have in mind. Unfortunately, it's still August, and I'll have to wait a while until all the haunted houses start to open to really sink my teeth into Halloween.

Danger Run

But the frame of mind will do for the time being. For example, writing about Halloween events keeps those juices flowing, and I found one that sounds like a total blast. In a similar vein to Road War or Midnight Madness, Danger Run is a scavenger hunt perfect for the scariest time of the year. I do wonder why I'm just now learning about this 31-year-old event, but better late than never.

This preview from 2024 describes it as "an immersive haunted house experience you can have in your car."

How to Play Danger Run

In Danger Run, participants will solve clues that will lead them to Halloween attractions around Louisville. And guess what? You can even start the game in your driveway. In 2025, players will have the choice between haunted house destinations, a much scarier experience, or less intense attractions like escape rooms. I think it sounds like an absolute blast. Here's a 2025 teaser...

Throughout your "danger run," you'll earn points, unlock rewards, and if you are an expert at following directions, you might even win something. A first-time player will want to hang on to Danger Run's FAQ page. In fact, bring it with you, and get ready for more fun than you thought "danger" could bring.

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
