As I write this, we are enjoying some serious spring weather here at the tail-end of February. And I am here for it.

And nothing makes folks dream of getting away from it all like a quick warm-up after three winter storms in eight days. Consider this a spring fever alert.

Now, typically, when I travel, I'm in my car because of my love of road trips. But if I'm going to, say, Los Angeles, I'll hop on a plane. And since I brought it up, getting to L.A. will soon be a lot easier, if you've a mind to go.

The Louisville-Muhammad Ali International Airport is about to make travel to some MAJOR American cities a lot more convenient with the addition of Spirit Airlines.

I had never heard of Spirit Airlines, so I looked it up. It's based in Miramar, Florida and bills itself as "the leading Ultra Low Cost Carrier in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America."

You had me at "low-cost."

And they'll happily have you join them on a flight to Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, or Las Vegas for a direct flight from Louisville beginning May 27th.

There are airlines that already do offer direct flights to many American cities from Louisville, but Spirit is new and, again, INEXPENSIVE.

How about that? A quick trip to Vegas for, say, weekend. Clean up at the casinos and then head home without going broke.

Or L.A. or Lauderdale or Orlando.

The sky really is the limit, as they say.
