Lake Malone in Muhlenberg County KY Gearing Up for Dock Trot ’24
What little I know about meteorology suggests that mid-September in these parts could still be very warm but also has the great potential of blessing us with low humidity. As long as the latter part comes to pass, I'm fine.
I bring up the weather because on September 14th, untold numbers of fun seekers will flock to Lake Malone in Muhlenberg County--or possibly Logan County, depending on where you "drop the anchor"--for a day of live music on the water. Are you ready for Dock Trot 2024?
The day begins at 2 PM when Army of Life--winner of WBKR's Friday Night Fights--takes the stage expertly performing covers of songs by iconic bands like the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top, among others. You'll be able to catch their magic on the Tennessee Valley Authority Blue Dock Trot Stop.
Over at the Yellow Dock Trot Stop, Stackin' Eights will give fans a unique mix of hard-edged rock, blues, and folk poetry, according to a release from Muhlenberg County Tourism. The band's set will begin at 3:15 PM.
On the Lake Malone Boat Storage Orange Dock Trot Stop at 4:30, enjoy original country music from Charlies River. Paul Hood, Laney Rice, and Gregory Allen will also perform some of their favorite covers.
And finally, back by popular demand, One Bullet Barney will fire it up at 6 PM at the Michael E. Miller Remax Red Dock Trot Stop at the Lake Malone State Park Beach. This is a "land option," meaning you only need to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the music.
Check out some images from last year's event, and you'll see that you are in for a treat.

WBKR's Barb Birgy will be on hand with the festivities, and so will you, right? Dock Trot is back for 2024. Don't miss it.
