Drive-Thru COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Set for Downtown Owensboro

The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce's next Rooster Booster Breakfast is set for Thursday, June 3rd.  While this installment, like the others held since April of 2020, will be virtual and broadcast online on the Chamber's Facebook page, there will be a very important, in-person event going on right after Rooster Booster wraps.

The Chamber is hosting a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinic.  It will take place from 8:30am to 1pm CST next Thursday at the Owensboro Convention Center.

There will be two different vaccines available at this event.  If you participate, you will get to choose between the Moderna vaccine, which requires two shots, or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which requires just one shot.  If you choose the Moderna vaccine, you will be contacted by the Green River District Health Department to schedule your second shot following 28 days.

Here's what you need to know about the event and how to get vaccinated during it.

Vaccines will be available at anyone 18+.

Vaccines are FREE of charge, regardless of insurance.

No appointment is required.

You MUST bring a photo ID.

Traffic flow the day of the clinic will work in this manner.  To enter and receive your vaccination, turn right onto Locust Street from Second Street downtown.  Once you receive your paperwork, you will pull forward where a practitioner will administer your vaccine.  Once you have received your shot, you will be directed to a parking spot, where you will be observed and monitored by a nurse for the required fifteen minutes.  You will then be free to exit the clinic and, more importantly, you will do so VACCINATED!

This drive-thru clinic is co-presented by the Green River District Health Department, the Owensboro Convention Center, Western Kentucky University Owensboro (June's Rooster Booster Breakfast sponsor) and the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce.

Those attending and receiving their COVID-19 vaccination will received their official CDC vaccination card and free sponsor merchandise (while supplies last).
