Confession time, I haven't missed one episode of AMC's The Walking Dead since day one. More importantly, I always make it point to almost always watch each new episode in real time, which for our time zone is 8:00pm, Sunday nights. However, during the mid-season 5 finale which aired this past Sunday, someone (an idiot!) posted the biggest spoiler ever on the show's Facebook page before the first run of the episode finished. Not cool.

Here's the network's official statement, also posted to Facebook:

"We heard your feedback to last night’s post, and we’re sorry. With zero negative intent, we jumped the gun and put up a spoiler. Please know we’re going to work to ensure that, in the future, possible spoilers by official AMC social feeds are killed before they can infect, certainly before the West Coast (U.S.) broadcast of The Walking Dead. As always, thank you for watching, and keep the comments coming. We appreciate all of your support. ‪#‎RIPSpoiler‬ "

From what I can remember, this the first time this has happened with TWD. Here's my advice, as much as you want to maybe browse the internet, check your phone, or tweet during the commercial breaks, DON'T! Unless, you are watching in real time. You know all those award shows that are shot live on the West Coast? They don't air live on the West Coast, thus any normal series also will not air at the same time we on the East Coast see it. So by all means, if you are watching your favorite show in real time, and if you are going to post something, try and be as vague as possible. In the end, the folks on the West Coast don't have a choice, because they follow all the social media feeds too. But we can all be a little spoiler hungry sometimes, we're human. Just use caution, here's a promo for the second half of season 5, don't worry, no spoilers!

February seems so far away...
