Fall Baseball Registration Underway at Owensboro Parks and Recreation

If you have a youngster who wants to play baseball this Fall, Owensboro Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations.  Here are the available age divisions!

Rookie league (machine pitch)……………7-8 year olds

Minor league (player pitch league….……..9-10 year olds

Major league (player pitch league)….…….11-12 year olds

These age groups for the 2017 season are based upon the child’s age as of May 1, 2018.

According to a press release from Owensboro Parks & Recreation, league play will begin Monday, August 14 and run through October 24.  There will be a 10 game season, plus tournament. All games will be played at the Owensboro Softball Complex, located in Jack C. Fisher Park.

The registration fee is $53 per player or $530 per team and includes a team t-shirt, hat and award. Individual registrations will go into a free agent pool. Teams consist of no more than 14 players.  And the league will teach and reinforce the fundamentals of the sport- hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, rules and, maybe most importantly, sportsmanship.

The deadline to register is Friday, July 21.
