Friday After 5 Week #10: Little Black Dress Night for My Sister’s Keeper
Don't look now, boys and girls, but we're past the halfway point of summer 2022, and there are only seven weeks of Friday After 5 to go.
The first of those seven is Week #10, otherwise known as Little Black Dress Night, so named because this week's big Owensboro riverfront extravaganza is all about raising awareness for My Sister's Keeper Women and Children's Shelter.
JIMMY CHURCH - JAGOE HOMES RIVERFRONT LIVE STAGE (6-9:30)
The excitement begins Friday night at the Holiday Inn Express on the Jagoe Homes Riverfront Live Stage with Jimmy Church, one of the world's top dance and show groups. Bring your dancing shoes because from 6P-9:30P you're in for an amazing rhythm and horn section, incredible choreography, and the sensational vocal talents of Cinnamon and Spice.
KEEPER KARAOKE - ATMOS ENERGY AMPHITHEATER (6-8)
From 6 until 8PM, it's our own Angel Welsh and Keeper Karaoke on the Atmos Energy Amphitheater at McConnell Plaza. Come and help raise awareness for My Sister's Keeper Women and Children's Shelter, an emergency homeless shelter that aims to improve the lives of women and children of all ages.
GLENN HALLELUJAH FRIDAY GOSPEL NIGHT - FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH (7-9)
From 7 to 9PM, it's Glenn Hallelujah Friday Gospel Night at First Baptist Church featuring the Childress Family and the First Baptist Church Choir. This evening of gospel music will be hosted by Brian Basham.
RECKLESS X - ROMAIN SUBARU OVERLOOK STAGE (7-9)
DUSTIN TAYLOR ON THE ROCKS - LURE (7-10)
BLACKFORD CREEK - RUOFF PARTY STAGE (8:30-11:30)
And for most of the night--from 7:30PM until midnight--it's karaoke at the VFW Post 696. I know, I know...I won't be there to offer up my unbeatable rendition of Culture Club's "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me," but it will be a blast, just the same.
Hey, it's Friday After 5. It's always a BLAST.
If you haven't yet been this season, Friday After 5 has shifted a little farther west than in previous seasons. Here's your event map:
