Fun Things To Do On Fall Break With Your Kids In Owensboro

Not everyone heads south for Fall Break!  If you are one of those families that decided to take a staycation right here in Owensboro we found some fun activities for you!Owensboro Museum of Science & History

Tuesday 9 October
10:30 a.m. Kids in the Kitchen Program
11:30 a.m. Public Coal Mine Tour
2:00 p.m. Wesselman Woods will present program on Birds of Prey, including a live Screech Owl and a live Kestrel.
3:00 p.m. Public Coal Mine Tour

Wednesday 10 October
10:30 a.m. Meet the furry friends from Nurture to Nature Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and learn about some native Kentucky mammals, including a live flying squirrel (Hattie), a live opossum (Penelope), a life raccoon (Stella), a live groundhog (Griff) and a live red fox (Trixie.)
11:30 a.m. Public Coal Mine Tour
3:00 p.m. Public Coal Mine Tour

Thursday 11 October
10:30 a.m. Debbie Taylor from Equestrian Enterprises will present a program on some common barnyard animals, including a live miniature horse and a live goat.

Friday 12 October
10:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.   Live Snake Talk with OCHY, the museum's resident corn snake! Get up close and personal visit with the resident corn snake Ochy, and discuss how snakes live, eat and interact with the world around them. Patrons will have a chance to touch Ochy and make photographs!
11:30 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. Public Coal Mine Tour

The programs are free with a museum admission.
Children 2 years and under are admitted free.
There is no charge for museum members.

Fall Break Ice Skating Sessions
Monday-Friday 1-4 p.m.
Admission:  $6

Reidland @ Reid's Orchard
Reidland Play Area, Apple Express Train, Gemstone Mining are open until 4:00 today. Horse, pony rides & petting zoo are not open. Still had standing water in the area they are. As long as weather permits hope to have them back rest of week.
