Did You Know There’s a ‘General Lee’ Dodge Charger ‘Graveyard’ in Georgia?

Years ago, while I was still watching The Walking Dead, I noticed a semi that look very familiar, oddly enough, and I didn't know why. Later, on The Talking Dead--the talk show during which they discuss the most recent episode--it was revealed that that was the semi Jerry Reed drove in Smokey and the Bandit.

When that high-speed classic was released, I saw it three times at the theater. I just KNEW I recognized it. In that Talking Dead episode, they went on to discuss how the production crew just found it deserted in a field and decided to use it in a scene. What a find.

I was reminded of that discovery when ANOTHER Georgia discovery began making headlines. I'd say this one is just as awesome a discovery as that one.

What I don't understand is why it took so long for this discovery to be made. That image was posted back in May of 2020. Regardless, these Dodge Chargers have been languishing in this Georgia junkyard for years, but there's no guarantee that any of these classic vehicles found in this de facto Charger "graveyard" were officially used in The Dukes of Hazzard. Conversely, there's no guarantee they weren't, either.

But maybe this from motorious.com indicates that perhaps there ARE Dukes of Hazzard stunt cars amongst all the dilapidated vehicles:

Plus, the "rottingclassics" Instagram account notes that at least one of them is a high-performance vehicle, so who knows? We DO know that the proprietor of this General Lee "resting place" will not sell any of them, so if you're a collector...alas...keep moving.
