Remember when General Motors recalled everyone's car for having an ignition switch issue?  It was an insane amount of cars.  The number topped one hundred million cars in the United States and across the ocean.  Without thinking properly... I bought one of them.

The recall was for "Unintended Ignition Key Rotation" along with an airbag issue that either blew the airbag up without notice or it didn't inflate all the way during a crash.  There was something wrong with the lock in the ignition that kept the key in one spot while you are driving and it actually took the lives of dozens of people.

This is very important to all of you out there.  If you drive a GM car.  i.e. Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saturn or SAAB.  This recall can effect you if you are in the correct year range.  Check out the full list by clicking here.

My mother used to have a 97 Park Avenue and if you know anything about GM in 1997 then you now that it was a pretty bad year for their cars and trucks.  The Park Ave's key could be pulled out of the ignition while it was moving.  Nothing happened at all.  I kind of liked that it did that.  You could go do other things around the car while it was running.  My 89 Deville did the same thing and since the trunk button didn't work on the inside of the car it was nice to be able to pull the key out of the ignition and go open the trunk without shutting the car off.

I got the recall notice in the mail and it says that my car is under recall from the big discovery found back in 2014.

If you own a GM car and have found this recall.  Go to the the dealership and get it fixed.  It's free.
