
George Clooney Reminisces About Playing Basketball in Kentucky with Fans After Broadway Show
31st Wedding Anniversary Trip to New York City: A Memorable Encounter with George Clooney
Dianne Dixon Kirkpatrick and her husband Kirk just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary and they did it with a whirlwind trip to New York City. It was there that Dianne got the chance to meet one of her all-time favorite actors and, during their brief encounter, he actually gave her hometown a nod and some unexpected mad respect.
George Clooney's Broadway Performance in Good Night and Good Luck
George Clooney is currently starring in Good Night and Good Luck at the Winter Garden Theatre on Broadway. The Hollywood A-Lister has tackled the life of Edward R. Murrow before. Twenty years ago (2005), Clooney wrote and directed the big-screen version, which starred David Strathairn. In the film, Clooney played Fred Friendly, who was Murrow's producer.

On Broadway, Clooney has stepped into the role of Murrow and is wowing audiences with his performance.
The Kirkpatricks' Broadway Adventure: Meeting George Clooney After the Show
In the audience recently? The Kirkpatricks, who went to a 1pm Wednesday matinee. They decided to try their luck at meeting George after the show at the stage door. Only, because there was a second show that day, they learned from a security guard that George wouldn't be coming out. Dianne says, "We were bummed."
However, the couple decided to try their own 'good luck' and try to catch him after the 7pm performance. Guess what? It worked! Dianne says, "We timed it just right!"
A Dream Come True: Dianne Meets George Clooney in Person
Dianne made her way to the corner of the barricades and he eventually came around to her side. George signed Dianne's Playbill.
She shared that photo on social media with this- "My life is complete! Me and George Clooney signing my Playbill!"
The two also shared a brief conversation. She said, "Hey, George! We're from Kentucky." See, George Clooney is originally from Kentucky, too. He was born in Lexington.
Being very familiar with the state, George asked, "Where from?" Dianne answered, "Owensboro." George then said, "We used to play them in basketball, and they would kill us." He added, "They were all so much bigger than us."

Dianne says that George was 'really nice' and she's glad her husband was in his element too. She says, "Thank goodness Kirk was doing what he does best. Taking pics!"
