Get Your Biscuit Buttered While You Experience One of Kentucky’s Most Delicious Food Trucks
Everyone loves a good food truck. There is nothing better than driving down the road and spotting one. We found a new one in Ohio County and we're intrigued.
BUTTER MY BISCUIT
I don't know a southern soul that doesn't love a made from scratch biscuit and if you don't you ain't southern. Angel here and last weekend our family traveled to Ohio County to the cabin. On Saturday I went into town and as I was passing the old Freddy's location I noticed a food truck in the parking lot and stopped by to be nosey. To my delightful surprise, I learned it was a fairly new food truck that serves up homemade biscuits in a variety of ways.
MEET THE OWNERS
I had the opportunity to meet Nathan Bullock, co-owner of Butterz Biscuit food truck. Nathan owns the truck with his father, James.
Nathan served in the US Army for many years including being deployed overseas. Now he is bringing his amazing servant heart and now he's serving up delicious homemade southern comfort food breakfast style. He told me the idea for the business started back in 2020 and now their out and about in Hartford and Beaver Dam during the week.
Nathan Bullock has a colorful background with a wide array of life experiences. He started off back in high school working in the food industry. Although these were his first jobs at a young age, they would create a foundation that would shape him for years to come.
James Bullock has lived a life full of hard work and dedication. His exceptional work ethic was developed at the very young age of seven while working the cotton fields near his family’s home in Athens, Georgia.
Over the years, James and his wife Debbie have spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking both old family recipes and developing new ones. It is also not uncommon for James and his wife to cook and provide meals for widows in the area that might not have access to a frequent home-cooked meal.
ALL IN THE FAMILY
James and Nathan have always shared a special bond as father and son. Since the time Nathan began working in the food industry in high school and learning the ways of the kitchen at home, they have both dreamt of one day having their own restaurant. As the years have passed and they have now gotten to a point where they are able, James and Nathan have decided that now is the time to fulfill that dream. As the years have passed and they have now gotten to a point where they are able, James and Nathan have decided that now is the time to fulfill that dream.
The Butterz truck is a 40-foot-long gooseneck that has the option of drive-thru or walk-up service.
These biscuits remind me of the ones my grandmother would fix on Sunday mornings win I would stay at her house before church.
One of the newest biscuits on the menu is the Bang Bang Chicken Biscuit. My mouth is watering just thinking about this one.
Tenderloin with scrambled eggs and hot sauce. Yum!
If you're totally plain jane they have your regular breakfast sandwiches to choose from like the sausage and egg biscuit.
We saved the best for last. If you're from the south surely you've heard of chocolate gravy, right? Well, what better to put on a biscuit than chocolate gravy.
One of the greatest things about Butterz is their motto B.Y.O.B. Build Your Own Biscuit. They make it how you like it.
Oh and I almost forgot THEY HAVE COFFEE!!!! Yummy delicious flavored coffee.
HAVE BISCUIT WILL TRAVEL
I did ask Nathan if they had ever considered traveling outside of the Ohio County area and he said that is an option if folks in the Tri-State area contact him. You can find all their information on the Butterz Biscuit Facebook Page.
