The Owensboro Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the eighth annual "Gone to the Dogs" event at Combest Pool on Sunday, August 5th. The open swim lessons for dogs and their owners will be from 6pm-8pm. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place on Monday, August 6th. Dogs of all sizes are welcome; admission to the pool is $7 per dog and his or her owner gets in FREE!

The evening will consist of prizes, contests, and giveaways. Contests include, Best Water Retrieve, Fastest Dog Paddle and Owner/Dog Look-A-Like. Representatives from various pet businesses, pet resorts, pet training and kennel centers, and veterinary offices will be on hand for all your questions and needs.

Donations of a small bag of dry dog food will be accepted on behalf of the Owensboro Humane Society and the Daviess County Animal Shelter. If you would like more information or you would like to be involved, please call Jennifer Hodges at 687-8333.
