Did you know that the last total Solar Eclipse visible from Kentucky was August 1st, 1869. Greenville, Kentucky is giving YOU a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the Solar Eclipse with activities and giveaways galore! You'll want to be part of it all.

You can celebrate the 2017 Great American Eclipse in Greenville by spending Saturday evening enjoying hot air balloons, food and family fun! The Greenville Tourism Commission is partnering with the MCHS Band for a memorable evening of eclipse celebration fun! Gates open at 5:30 pm for ticket sales and balloon rides begin at 7:00 pm.

Tethered hot air balloon rides will be available for all Saturday, August 19th at the Muhlenberg County Park! The cost to ride is only $5.

Then Monday, August 21st make plans to come view this once in a lifetime event from the beautiful grounds of Greenville’s Summerhouse! Located just outside of downtown, the Summerhouse and the adjacent Morgan Park have plenty of open space. Greenville will experience 1 minute and 44 seconds of complete darkness at approximately 1:25 pm CST.

Barb Birgy with WBKR will be onsite playing music and broadcasting live! In addition, the first 500 guests will receive FREE eclipse survival kits which include: a Moon Pie, a Sun Drop, sunscreen, eclipse viewing glasses and a frisbee. Additional eclipse viewing glasses will be available while supplies last. Come hungry, and enjoy lunch onsite as well.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, and prepare to be amazed!
