When I was a kid, my grandfather use to take me fishing at Rough River.  And this was one of my favorite parts of each trip.  Seeing the Old Falls Mill building.  Built in the 1800's and a storied piece of Grayson and Breckinridge County history, the building is now in a virtual state of collapse and is about to fall into the river it once proudly watched over.

We were contacted here at WBKR by Charlotte N Qulin Escue, who asked us to help in the efforts to save the landmark.  And we're happy to do it.  Many folks in Western Kentucky share fond memories of the Old Falls Mill and some have shared their thoughts on the WBKR Facebook page.

Dean Allen posted: Aww.... Man that's where I flathead fish. Love it down there. Wish there was some way I could help with keeping that building up.

Amy Ward, aware of the efforts to save the property, said:  Please spread the word!

So, here's how YOU can help.  A GoFundMe account dedicated to the Mill was established by Troy Mercer last week and donations are already coming in.  The ultimate fundraising goal to restore the landmark and secure its foundation is $100,000.  There's a lot of work to do literally and figuratively.
