Hail Storm Batters Owensboro, Daviess County
If you live in Owensboro and Daviess County, your alarm clock Saturday morning was a loud, banging, unstoppable sound. Looking out my window, I saw massive amounts of hail falling to the ground. It was hard to see, as if it was a blinding blizzard. It piled up fast.
We were set for damaging winds, hail, and the possibility of tornadoes; don’t get me wrong, there was wind that blew tiny limbs around that accompanied the hail that fell on my deck. I didn’t park behind the house for fear of trees falling if there was a wind event.
I started to see pictures on Facebook of piles and different sizes of hail, siding stripped from houses, cars dented, windshields or house windows broken, window screens slashed, and outdoor furniture destroyed. I can't believe it all happened in about 20 minutes.
Mary-Katharine asked you on the WBKR Facebook page for hail photos; here's some of what you sent us:

I had hail like this next one, it was a perfect little piece, not quite the size of a golf ball.
Sheri submitted her photo via the WBKR app, which you can do too. Open the app, go to the menu at the top left signified with four horizontal lines, and scroll down to find "Submit Photo/Video". This is the same way you submit photos for our contests. You will need to create an account with your email address. Don't worry, it's free.
