Loudoun House Named Kentucky’s Most Haunted Building
I realize that Halloween 2025 is in the books and we've made a sharp turn toward the holiday season. However, just a few days ago I saw a spooky story that caught my attention. Why? It named the most haunted building in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
THE MOST HAUNTED BUILDING IN EVERY STATE
Business Insider recently published its list of The Most Haunted Building in Every State. Though I am a relentless skeptic, I was curious to see which building took the honors in my home state. As it turns out, it was a building I'm not sure I have ever heard of.
Over the years, I have heard of many haunted Kentucky locations. The more famous buildings include Waverly Hills in Louisville and Bob Mackey's Music World in Wilder.

THE MOST HAUNTED BUILDING IN KENTUCKY
However, according to Business Insider, THE most haunted building in Kentucky is Loudoun House in Lexington, which was built back in 1851 and was the home of Francis Key Hunt.
As you'll hear in the video below, there seem to be at least two female residents of Loudoun House who refuse to leave it.
The Ghost Bros recently shared a video of YouTube as well. They visited various allegedly haunted locations in Lexington and one of them was, you guessed it, Loudoun House! In their video, they share some intriguing history about Francis Key Hunt, his house, and those pesky spirits that seem determined to stay. It's entirely possible that one of them is Francis' wife.
And, I'll admit it. The house looks REALLY creepy at night. The Ghost Bros' drone footage will send shivers up your spine.
THE LEXINGTON ART LEAGUE
Today, the Loudoun House is owned by the City of Lexington. It serves as the home of the Lexington Art League and you are invited to visit its galleries. According to the Lexington Art League's website, "The Loudoun House is on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of only five remaining castellated Gothic Revival villas left in the United States designed by New York architect A. J. Davis."
