This place is absolutely gorgeous and, until Monday morning, I had never heard of it.  That is until my friend Michael Harkins shared some photos he snapped of the place on Sunday evening.  It's Adsmore House in Princeton, Kentucky.  It's a beautiful mansion built way back in 1857.  It's now a museum that captures life in the early 1900s.

According to the Adsmore's official website, most of the belongings and pieces you will see on display in the home are authentic and actually belonged to the Smith-Garrett family, who purchased the property in 1900.  The Adsmore rotates seven different exhibits annually, so you never have the same visitor experience twice.

I did some research on the home and learned that it stayed in the Smith-Garrett family for decades.  In fact, Miss Katherine Garrett, who was the granddaughter of the original owners, lived at Adsmore until she passed in 1984.  She willed the property to the George Coon Public Library with one stipulation.  It had to be opened to the public.  The doors opened to the public in 1986 and remain open today, welcoming visitors into a regal and seemingly royal western Kentucky world.

Unfortunately, at the current time, Adsmore House is closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Here's the most recent update from the Board of Trustees.

But, you can certainly do what my friend Michael did and enjoy the exterior of the home.  It is absolutely breathtaking.

Here are the photos he took Sunday.
