Hop Shops Announce New Disco Bathroom Dancing Into Southern Indiana
I never thought I'd get so excited about gas station restroom facilities, but that was before Hop Shops invented their world-famous Disco Bathroom. Valor Oil-owned and operated, there are two HOP Shops Truck Plazas in Owensboro, ten HOP Shops Convenience Stores in Northern Kentucky, and two HOP Shops in Ohio.
After going viral on Tiktok as folks discovered these dance hall potties, they've been featured on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
What Makes a Bathroom a Disco Bathroom?
As Jimmy said, these bathrooms have big red buttons with signs that say "Do not push this red button" with a winky face emoji. Of course, you gotta push it! When you do, the lights turn off, a disco ball starts to turn, laser lights get to poppin', and music by ABBA or Donna Summers plays so you can boogie in the bathroom before or after doing your business.
It's a Disco Bathroom Wedding!
A couple even got married in one! This past Valentine's Day, Tiana Ailstock and Logen Abney, tied the knot at their Verona, KY location. They vowed to "hop through life together in love." A smack of the red button immediately followed their first kiss to get the party going.
A Disco Bathroom is Coming to Southern Indiana
Now, Hop Shops invites you to get your dancing shoes ready to celebrate a milestone. The first Indiana location was announced as Valor Oil purchased The Rockport Truck Plaza, located at 981 N State Rd 161, Rockport, IN. The gas station, convenience store, and Wendy's combination will be renovated to include Hop Shops' signature lavatory laser show. In a press release, Damon Bail, VP of Retail Operations of Valor LLC said,
"We are excited to officially begin operations in Indiana and look forward to serving the Rockport community. Our focus will be on enhancing the customer experience by bringing our World Famous Disco Bathrooms and expanding our food offerings with Chester's Chicken. This is the next step in our growth, and we’re excited to welcome the community to experience what HOP Shops has to offer."
Folks in the area are already super excited about the news. That particular gas station could seriously use an update, and I know I'll enjoy stopping in to dance! Are y'all looking forward to pushing the red button?
