Okay, who out there remembers Rich's Donuts?  Anybody??  When I was growing up in the 80s, you could buy boxes of them in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store.  Ringing a bell yet?  I combed the internet to see if I could find a vintage photo of the box to help you out, but I couldn't find one anywhere.  I even looked on YouTube to see if I could dig up an old Rich's Donuts commercial, but to no avail.

But I absolutely LOVED those things.  They came wrapped in pairs and all you had to do was remove the wrapper and put them in the oven.  The best thing about them was the way that the icing would get flaky and hard as they warmed up.  And the taste . . . THE BEST!

Well, guess what???  Kevin and I just discovered something during our coronavirus quarantine.  We snagged some donuts from Koehler's Bakery and made an amazing discovery when we microwaved one . . .

You may not be ready for this news . . .

A MICROWAVED KOEHLER'S BAKERY GLAZED DONUT TASTES JUST LIKE A RICH'S DONUT!!!!!

And, yes.  It was absolutely necessary that I shared that news in all caps.  Seriously!!!  They taste exactly the same.

Now, here's the secret.  Get you a Koehler's glazed donut (or a dozen), put it on a microwave-safe plate and microwave it for 15 seconds.  Then, prepare to have them melt in your mouth just like a Rich's Donut used to.

Hey, when you spend 14 days in a coronavirus quarantine, you learn to appreciate the little things.  And, for me, this was a big one that I had to share with you.  You're welcome!
