New Imagination Library Reading Nook Opens at Owensboro Museum
This morning, our friend Diane Bowers from the Imagination Library of Daviess County came on the morning show to share some great news! They have partnered with the Owensboro Museum of Science and History and the Daviess County Public Library for something special.
For those who may not know, the museum's second floor is a big interactive play area for children. Not just to play, but to learn about science, animals, and local history while doing so. There is a small little room up there in the middle of the space that was almost completely bare, minus some lights that were used to teach visitors about shadows.
If you frequently visit, you'll know it was often out of order and never used, so why not transform it into something new that folks of all ages can enjoy? Like a reading nook. That is exactly what the Imagination Library has done.
Diane shared, "The maintenance people have been wonderful. They built benches and our new bookshelf." Thanks to some talented volunteer artists, there are adorable forest friends all over the walls. I love all of the colors! It is so fun and inviting. The best part of the space is that if your child reads a book and falls in love with it, they can take it home with them.

There is an official ribbon cutting tomorrow at 10:30 AM if you would like to celebrate and be the first to read the books in the nook. The Owensboro Museum of Science and History offers affordable memberships that (in my opinion) are especially beneficial for families with small children. That way, you can visit any time you want.
