Indiana University Offers Course on Dolly Parton’s Cultural Legacy
Forget a single academic course over one semester. Let's go ahead and expand this to a Bachelor of Arts Degree, shall we?
THE ANTHROPOLOGY OF DOLLY PARTON
Some college students at Indiana University in Bloomington are currently enrolled in a class about country music legend, pop culture icon and all-around perfect human being, Dolly Parton. The course is called The Anthropology of Dolly Parton and it's being taught by Dr. Sarah Phillips.
According to Bloom Magazine, there are 60 students participating in the class.

Initially, IU was going to allow 40. However, as you can imagine, there was a lot of interest in and demand for the class.
In the class, students are studying all things Dolly- her music, her business acumen, her philanthropy, her fashion, the worldwide impact of Imagination Library, and her impact on culture that extends well beyond country music.

Sadly, Dolly was recently in the headlines because of the passing of her beloved husband Carl Dean.

However, the truth is this. It seems Dolly, at the age of 79, is ALWAYS making headlines. Just in the last few years, she has continued to expand the 'Dolly' empire. She has cake mixes and wines. She has teamed up with The Wiggles. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear named her a Kentucky Colonel. She released a rock album after she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
DOLLY: AN ORIGINAL MUSICAL
Plus, this summer, Dolly Parton's life will officially be a Broadway-bound musical, which will make its debut in Nashville. The show, Dolly: An Original Musical, opens July 18th at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville.

And, now, at Indiana University, she's an official college course worth three credit hours. In her interview with Bloom Magazine, Dr. Phillips said she would love to teach The Anthropology of Dolly Parton again.
Asking for a friend- Is there a way to enroll for a virtual class? I would gladly go back to school for Dolly.
