These 11 Country Stars Are Unapologetically Vocal About Their Faith
It's not surprising to find threads of Christianity woven into country songs.
While many of the stereotypes of the genre include beer, trucks and farm living, there's an element of faith that can't be denied.
It started early on, as country music took root in the Southern part of the nation. The "three chords and the truth" gospel spread just as quickly as the churches did along the Bible Belt.
Artists like the Carter Family pumped hymns into their songs, while Hank Williams sang of the blessed day he finally saw the light.
Johnny Cash, too, sang of the cross, and George Jones wrote a song about the family Bible.
Of course, there are dozens of country singers like Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and Carrie Underwood who have covered the gospel songs they grew up singing in Sunday school.
And there are those who allow their faith to spill into their lyrics they write as naturally as poppin' a top or cruising down a backroad.
Country Songs About Faith
You don't have to look too far or too long to find a song about Jesus. Many stars take inspiration from their spiritual walk and incorporate it into the music they create.
Others namedrop God as quickly and easily as they would someone like Willie Nelson or Waylon Jennings.
Songs like Underwood's "Jesus Take the Wheel" or Brooks & Dunn's "Believe" come to mind as faith-based offerings. Some like Kane Brown's "Thank God" or Blake Shelton's "God Gave Me You" incorporate God's presence in the artist's life.

Country Singer Who Aren't Afraid to Profess Their Faith
In addition to the music, we have several country stars who are quick to profess their faith and are open to talking about God like a friend.
There are those who have led the nation in prayer, or taken a crowd to church while playing a worship song at a show. Others have made it clear that it is their heavenly calling to be in the music industry doing the Lord's work.
