Put Your ‘Bum’ in the Water at This Exciting IL Lazy River
Okay, that's it. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to think about clear skies, sunny days, and NO severe weather. As I write this, we are awaiting the arrival of a massive severe storm system that threatens to dump nearly everything in Mother Nature's arsenal on top of us.
River Bum Rafting
So, it's time for a "frame of mind" switch, and I can't think of a much better way to accomplish that than by, not just thinking about, but planning a road trip to Oglesby IL. Nope, I've never heard of it, but that won't matter if I can sit on a big old inner tube and stick my fanny in the water, in this case, the beautiful Vermilion River. River Bum Rafting anyone? Last one in the water is a rotten egg.
Before you start planning for a late April or early May getaway, River Bum Rafting operates just like a public pool or lake. That means rafts can only be rented from Memorial Day through Labor Day. But, hey, that gives you more time to plan.
I've been gazing at that a lot today. This hits me where I live. One of my favorite things to do at Holiday World/Splashin' Safari is to plant my behind in a tube on Bahari River. The beautiful Vermilion River seems to be a longer version.
I'm sold. Looks like we need to pick out a weekend, secure accommodations, acquire road snacks, and gas up the jalopy. There's an Illinois river and a raft with my name on it waiting for my arrival.
