Urban Explorers Tour a Shadowy Abandoned Corporate HQ in Illinois
It seems like the guys at Decaying Midwest have found their niche.
They set out to find abandoned buildings and apparently, Illinois is absolutely loaded with them.
Honestly, and I had no idea, but in the past few weeks these relatively new YouTubers have ended up inside an abandoned Chicago Police Station and a crumbling church in Northern Illinois.
Just a few days ago, they ended up at some shadowy-looking corporate headquarters building that looks to have been closed up for some time.
Before I go any farther, THIS:
WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.
Got it? Carrying on.
This place doesn't really qualify as creepy but probably cool, and I guess at worst, unfortunate.
I wish I knew the circumstances behind the closure of the headquarters.
- Did the company go bankrupt or out of business?
- Did they just move to another building?
- Did their surveillance just end and they needed to go to another state?
- Is it haunted?
Of the four, I wish the answer was the last one, but I don't think that's the case.
The most interesting things about the place are the tons of server racks left behind, some cool-looking graffiti, and probably the most insane amount of black mold I've ever seen in an office building.
One of the things I like the most about these videos from Decaying Midwest on YouTube is that they're always concerned about getting busted.
I've seen so many abandoned building videos and they never talk about that happening.
If I was to do some urbex-type stuff, which I wouldn't, no way, un-uh, I'd be talking about that the entire time too.
That's probably why I just leave it to other folks to do the dirty work. I'll just watch.
